France Pepper is an appraiser, curator and advisor. Her perspective of over 30 years is rooted in an academic and professional background, with expertise in Chinese art. She has insider knowledge of the markets in the U.S., Asia, and Europe, complemented by frequent visits to museums and galleries, archaeological sites, and fairs throughout Asia.
As a Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America, France is specialized in Asian art and is USPAP compliant. She provides appraisals for estates, charitable donations, insurance and damage and loss, equitable distribution, and liquidation of assets.

France is the curator of private and public collections, was the Director of Arts and Culture Programs at China Institute for over a decade, is a former gallerist, and held the position of Executive Director of Shen Wei Dance Arts, whose artistic director is an artist-choreographer MacArthur “Genius” Award recipient.
As contemporary Chinese art began to flourish, France produced Art Salon: The Culture of Contemporary Chinese Art. This lecture and video series is dedicated to contextualizing the lives of Chinese artists, as they took their place in the international art world. She interviewed leading artists and brought to the forefront issues these artists were facing in China and abroad.
France writes on both traditional and contemporary Asian art. Her published essays and articles have appeared in Oriental Art, Art in America, catalogues and educational websites.
